the latest version (2.3x) of filmfx is activated on a per machine basis -- ie your particular machine ID is hashed into the activation code, so using someone else's won't work :-(

Everyone who has an NLE gets their own dongle. And you can't trade it or sell it. That's the way it works on AVID's anyhow.
